Carriageworks – Colour & Lighting Project

The images below are rendered drawings on the proposed lighting design effects. I am inspired by the history of the Carriageworks building in Sydney. The Carriagework building has been redefined overtime, not only by the incorporation of the new building materials but also its purpose and use of the space that has influenced my design.

The light fittings will be installed inside the exhibition structure. With the lights set in different elevations the lights penetrates through the various cut outs of the structure  and offers unique shadows and shapes reflecting on the floors and walls of the venue. The lights will also enhances the vibrancy of the metallics paints.

The intention of the high bay lights can also be controlled by motion sensor. When there are no movement in the space, The lights will pulse like a heartbeat. When there are flurry in the room the lights will flicker randomly

The design will reflect the concept of people and trains movements in and about of train subways. It also reflects on the structures changes that Carriageworks have had from being a run-down warehouse to a striving hip place for artists and creative.
